Please note the changes to our opening times for this week only. On Friday and Saturday the shop will be OPEN, but slightly later and will close slightly earlier than usual; we will be closed on Sunday.

You'll have Karin & Jeff in the shop on Friday and Saturday - but don't worry, you'll still be able to choose from a massive selection of beautiful houseplants and stylish pots and brilliant souls and great accessories. Karin & Jeff will be able to help you with plant care advice and random plant facts.

It's probably easier if you save any plant order requests or repotting help for next week when Susie will be back.

We're not open today but felt this totally gorgeous Tradescantia quadricolor deserved a spot on the grid. It's absolutely massive - in a 24cm diameter pot and positively bursting with joy. Tradescantia are such an easy group of plants, fast growing and pretty flexible about positioning. To get the best from this plant we'd suggest a bright spot away from strong direct sunlight. The plant grows very quickly but pinching back the lengths keeps it looking full and lush.

Too much fabulousness? We've also got these in 12cm pots. Visit us at 2 Roman Way, Market Harborough to pick up the plant of your dreams.

We all know that houseplants make great gifts - what could be better to receive than a beautiful houseplant in a stylish pot. All you need is a fabulous card to complete the gift and we are delighted to have had a restock of wonderful cards from @emilycroftonarts. Emily makes these vibrant lino cut prints based on plants and flowers and we think these cards fit right in at the shop. You can find more of her work and larger prints in her Etsy shop or at a local market or event.

It was my pick for 'plant of the moment' when I was chatting to Ben Jackson from BBC Radio Leicester earlier in the week (we were actually talking about how Market Harborough is indeed a fabulous place) and also features in the 'Houseplant Focus' section of our latest windowsill newsletter

Just one week ago it was wet paint, moving boxes, and a lot of heavy lifting. And now after our first weekend, our new home feels like we’ve been here forever, we’re finally catching our breath!

It's moving day for us today. If you've been past our new shop at 2 Roman Way you may have seen that we've been busy inside painting and assembling some new shelving; today we are taking (almost) everything out of the Old Fire Station and trying to find the right places for all our stock in the new shop. That's all the large furniture as well as boxes and boxes of pots, soils, accessories and a few plants too. We've got a big plant delivery coming tomorrow so we need to be organised so that can be sorted and displayed.

None of this would be possible without our very own Mr windowsill and Mark & keV from @mdk_logistics (highly recommended, 5*).

Looking forward to the space coming together ready for our opening day on Friday 06th March (* probably).

Market Harborough, we have a big announcement. We are on the move!

We've been trading in Market Harborough since 2019 and we love it here. Our new place is smack in the centre of town, a stone's throw from all your favourite Harborough institutions at 2 Roman Way.

Apart from the new address pretty much everything else will remain the same. It will be the same warm, welcoming, safe space for everyone. We will continue to stock the very best quality houseplants, stylish pots, brilliant Soil Ninja soils and great accessories. We'll continue to make sure you get the right plant and give you reliable advice on where to place it and how to care for it. You will still be able to come to our 5* rated workshops.

We can’t wait to share more over the next couple of weeks as we prepare. In the meantime, please do pop in to make the most of our beautiful Old Fire Station whilst we’re still here. We are open as usual this week:

We love our gorgeous shop in the Old Fire Station, Abbey Street, Market Harborough, but the time has come for us to move to a new venue which better suits our business (more on our new place later!).

Just a heads-up for you all of the special events that we've got coming up over the festive season.

This Friday 28th November it's Late Night Shopping in Market Harborough. A brilliant relaxed shopping event with plenty of independent shops (and some of the bigger chains too). We will be open until 8.30pm. It's your chance to get everything tucked off your list without struggling through the crowds - all whilst supporting small businesses. It's a classic win-win. Check Market Harborough Late Night Shopping online for more information on the shops participating.

The following two weekends (6/7th & 13/14th December) we will be at Lamport Hall, bringing beautiful houseplants for the masses. This is a great day out, with lots of fantastic stalls and fun festive activities. This is a paid entry event with tickets bookable online through Lamport Hall website. The shop will be open both weekends (*slightly reduced opening times - we will let you know) with Karin and Mr windowsill dinning the apron and ready to help. If you are looking for more in depth help or advice you might want to check the days that Susie is there.

As if trading at Lamport Hall for the first two weekends of December isn't enough we're fitting in a cheeky return to Warwick Arts Centre on Tuesday 09th December. We had a fabulous time at their Fresher's event a couple of months ago and are looking forward to going back with more houseplant loveliness.

The best thing about all these events is that we've spent some extra time thinking about what beautiful houseplants and gorgeous pots you all might like and will have some special combinations available throughout the next month both at the events and in the shop.

Aw, I love a family photo session where everyone dresses up in coordinating clothes. Here I've managed to wrangle my plant children into shades of white for a snowy festive feel.

There's loads of pots in the shop in lots of different sizes and colour ways. Once we've helped you find your perfect plant and we've explained all about how to look after it you can match it to your perfect pot.

Today marks three years since we opened the doors of our gorgeous shop in the Old Fire Station, Abbey Street. I'm celebrating with Mr windowsill (and my childhood birthday candle holders); the shop is back open as usual Thursday to Sunday.

You all know how difficult things are on the high street at the moment (and we're quite some way off the high street!), but you keep showing up to buy yourselves a little treat, find the perfect houseplant gift, attend a workshop and support this tiny business. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

***NEW KOKEDAMA WORKSHOP***

I had such a great time at the recent Kokedama workshops that I ran for Bosworths Garden Centres that I've decided to add a couple of sessions for you to join me in the shop in Market Harborough and spend an hour mixing mindfulness with messiness.

You will choose from a selection of suitable houseplants and I will guide you through the process of mixing up the soil, packing it around the roots and wrapping it all in moss. I'll explain everything as we go along and you'll take home your beautiful pot-less plant.

These workshops are relaxed and a lot of fun. We definitely are not focusing on perfection - it's very much a state of mind around embracing the imperfection and connecting (literally) with nature.

As if trading at Lamport Hall for the first two weekends of December isn't enough we're fitting in a cheeky return to Warwick Arts Centre on Tuesday 09th December. We had a fabulous time at their Fresher's event a couple of months ago and are looking forward to going back with more houseplant loveliness.

The best thing about all these events is that we've spent some extra time thinking about what beautiful houseplants and gorgeous pots you all might like and will have some special combinations available throughout the next month both at the events and in the shop.

Aw, I love a family photo session where everyone dresses up in coordinating clothes. Here I've managed to wrangle my plant children into shades of white for a snowy festive feel.

There's loads of pots in the shop in lots of different sizes and colour ways. Once we've helped you find your perfect plant and we've explained all about how to look after it you can match it to your perfect pot.

Today marks three years since we opened the doors of our gorgeous shop in the Old Fire Station, Abbey Street. I'm celebrating with Mr windowsill (and my childhood birthday candle holders); the shop is back open as usual Thursday to Sunday.

You all know how difficult things are on the high street at the moment (and we're quite some way off the high street!), but you keep showing up to buy yourselves a little treat, find the perfect houseplant gift, attend a workshop and support this tiny business. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

We've got loads of beautiful houseplants with a spooky edge this Halloween - from blood red stems to black leaves, weird textures and creepy leaf shapes. You don't need to be frightened by these gorgeous plants - we'll make sure you understand what you need to do to make them happy. It might be the time of year to celebrate All Souls but we're very much focused on keeping things alive!

***NEW KOKEDAMA WORKSHOP***

I had such a great time at the recent Kokedama workshops that I ran for Bosworths Garden Centres that I've decided to add a couple of sessions for you to join me in the shop in Market Harborough and spend an hour mixing mindfulness with messiness.

You will choose from a selection of suitable houseplants and I will guide you through the process of mixing up the soil, packing it around the roots and wrapping it all in moss. I'll explain everything as we go along and you'll take home your beautiful pot-less plant.

These workshops are relaxed and a lot of fun. We definitely are not focusing on perfection - it's very much a state of mind around embracing the imperfection and connecting (literally) with nature.

EVENING WORKSHOP - Thursday 23rd October, 6-7.30pm
