***FUZZY*** This beautiful, large leaf Philodendr ***FUZZY***

This beautiful, large leaf Philodendron "Fuzzy Petiole" arrived on the shelves this week. It will produce increasingly massive soft leaves as the plant matures; at the moment they're as big as my maximum handspan. The variety name comes from the hairy leaf stalks, which have a pink tinge. This plant will tolerate imperfect conditions but prefers a warm, humid place with good indirect light to really thrive.

We are open today at @ecovillageuk. I'll be in the main room for chats about Philodendrons and cooing over Pink Princesses. The courtyard us particularly lovely on a sunny day for coffee and cake or delicious lunch from @hellotwooldgoats. Whatever you do today - stay fuzzy.
***PINK PINK PINK*** We've had a load of new stoc ***PINK PINK PINK***

We've had a load of new stock delivered today - some of it our old favourites (hello 100 varieties of Peperomia!) and some totally new. I've held off ordering this beauty - Philodendron Pink Princess before now, as it was uber trendy and super expensive. It's still a bit pricey but hopefully you will agree that it has now hit the magic point of "special and worth it".

In fact we've got a nice selection of slightly special houseplants - this PPP, the gorgeous Calathea 'White Fusion ' and another unusual Philodendron - 'Fuzzy Petiole' (more on this later).

All this houseplant loveliness is available on the shelves at @ecovillageuk (open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am - 4pm). It's late night there tonight with opening until 8pm for shopping, chatting and eating.

We will be popping up tomorrow with our friends @greenwelford at Welford village hall. It's a fabulous Friday with houseplants, curries from @varsha.s_mistrykitchen and the Refill Van (from 10am-12pm).
***HELLO*** This is me, looking cheery because I' ***HELLO***

This is me, looking cheery because I've had a lovely day at @themudkitchencafeltd market in Cogenhoe. Made even better by receiving this sweet little plant broach from @louisecrookendenjohnson. I first met Louise when she came to our Spring Fair at @ecovillageuk - she makes gorgeous ceramic art (check her social media pages for a peek at the super cute otters).

We'll all be packing up soon but the market is back at Cogenhoe Village Hall next month, on Sunday 12th June (10am - 3pm).

***SATURDAY at ECO-VILLAGE*** We have our permane ***SATURDAY at ECO-VILLAGE***

We have our permanent base at @ecovillageuk Market Harborough. For those who haven't visited yet the Eco-village is a collection of businesses with sustainability at their heart. We have plastic free gifts, treats and everyday items, groceries and supplies and the most amazing food from @hellotwooldgoats. You can grab a coffee and cake or lunch to eat in our sunny courtyard.

We have fully stocked plant shelves and all our usual accessories - Shell on Earth, watering cans, books and beautiful quality pots. Although I am not here all the time you can normally catch me on Saturdays and often on Thursdays. However you can also always message me here for plant selection and care advice.

The Eco-village is on St Mary's Road, just past KwikFit; we've got plenty of parking in front of the building. Open today until 4pm.
***START YOUR OWN JUNGLE*** You can, of course, b ***START YOUR OWN JUNGLE***

You can, of course, buy just one plant, but somehow it never seems to work out like that. Perhaps it's because there are so many totally gorgeous different plants to choose from. Whether you go on a bit of a spree or add to your collection over time we all seem to end up with our own little jungles

This fabulous fella is Philodendron selloum "Little Hope" (although I think it's been reclassified into Thaumatophyllum). I have these in stock at around 80cm but they will grow huge - perfect for creating a jungle vibe.

I'll be in the main room at @ecovillageuk tomorrow (open 9am -4pm) and it looks like I'll be doing a spontaneous little Northants pop-up on Sunday - I'll let you know where and when once it's all confirmed.
***BROMHAM MILL MARKET """ We are all set up here ***BROMHAM MILL MARKET """

We are all set up here at Bromham Mill ready for a fabulous day (until 2pm). There's loads of different traders - art, ceramics, children's clothing, fudge!

I've just been advised that plants solve all your problems - so, come down for a bit of green therapy.
***HOLEY SMOKES*** What a fabulous start to this ***HOLEY SMOKES***

What a fabulous start to this early May bank holiday - we've got our fingers and toes crossed that tomorrow will be as sunny as we shall be at @bromhammill_artisanfair with ALL the best houseplants for you.

It's our second appearance at Bromham, which is a lovely village just outside of Bedford. There will be lots and lots of different traders bringing quality craft items and a great coffee shop @themill_coffeeshop.

If you are looking for something in particular let me know (before I leave at 7.30am) and I will make sure it gets packed. There will be lots of beautiful plants to make you happy and you can always get proper plant care care advice to keep your new planty friends happy too.

We shall be closed at @ecovillageuk on Sunday and Monday, then back open as usual (Tuesday to Saturday).

***TALKING*** I'm hanging out here at @ecovillage ***TALKING***

I'm hanging out here at @ecovillageuk for a bit this evening, mainly eating pizza from @the.wood.oven.leicester, who are here every Thursday from 5pm-8pm.

A bit later I'll be previewing my talk on "Enjoying Houseplants" for Leicestershire & Rutland WI. Delivering talks to groups is a little side line of mine; I know public speaking isn't everyone's favourite activity but it's something I really enjoy. My speaking style is very informal but I also try to fit in lots of helpful information and always make sure there's plenty of time for questions. If you would like me to speak to your group about any aspect of houseplant love just message me here or by email.

***SILVER-GREY*** If you've had a look at the she ***SILVER-GREY***

If you've had a look at the shelves @ecovillageuk or one of my recent pop-ups you might have noticed I'm having a silver-grey leaf moment. Peperomia argyreia (watermelon peperomia), Philodendron Silver Queen, Sansevieria Moonshine and this beauty - Ctenanthe burle marxii.

As a general rule the lighter the leaf colour the more light the plant needs, although you still need to be careful not to scorch delicate leaves with strong sun. It's the magical 'bright, indirect light" that's needed.

I'll be at the eco-village, Market Harborough tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 28/04) - it's late night opening and I will be there 4pm to 7pm (ish). I'll also be back on Saturday to help with plant selection and care advice.

On Sunday (01/05) I'll be back with all the beautiful plants at @bromhammill_artisanfair. Message me if you want me to bring a particular plant.
***SATURDAY at OUNDLE*** It's going to be a Super ***SATURDAY at OUNDLE***

It's going to be a Super Saturday this weekend (23/04) at Oundle with houseplants and curries both popping up outside @refill.revolution.oundle. We'll be there from around 10am - 2pm.

I'll be bringing a selection of beautiful houseplants and will be on hand to help you choose the perfect plant and care advice to to keep it happy.

Varsha from @mistrykitchen will have homemade curries for you to take home and enjoy - it's all my favourites this week so you're in for a treat. If you're lucky there might be some extras like nan buns and samosa swirls.

Of course, both of us will still be stocking up in Market Harborough where you'll find plenty to browse & buy at @ecovillageuk all week (Tuesday to Saturday, 9am - 4pm).
***SOMETHING DIFFERENT*** Many of you will know t ***SOMETHING DIFFERENT***

Many of you will know the beautiful Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura), with it's tropical pink stripe; well, let me introduce you to it's cousin - Maranta kerchoveana (Rabbits foot). Maybe not as showy but the leaf markings are fascinating and provide a cool counterpoint.

Marantas can be somewhat tricky - they love light, but not direct sun; they live humidity but not having their feet wet; they love warmth but don't like getting hot. Got it? They are worth going through the process of finding the perfect spot and will reward you with quick sprawling growth.

Find both these varieties on the shelves at @ecovillageuk . Open Tuesday to Saturday (9am - 4pm), with late night opening until 8pm on Thursday. Oundle friends - I'll be bringing these and more to Oundle Wharf, outside @refill.revolution.oundle on Saturday (23/04).
***TRADESCANTIA*** These are such glorious plants ***TRADESCANTIA***

These are such glorious plants - full of exuberance and honestly, the easiest plants ever. It has various common names, including "inchplant" because it grows so quit. If you're particularly lucky to catch me at the eco-village I might tell you more about it's scientific name.

There are about a million varieties and colourways; almost all have a bit of purple somewhere on the leaves. I try to keep a selection of larger plants in stock, as they make great space fillers. They're also good if you want to try your hand at a bit of propagation.

The Eco-village is open as usual this weekend - Good Friday and Easter Saturday (9am to 4pm). Pop down for some plant browsing and fascinating Tradescantia facts. We're then closed - as usual, on Sunday and Monday.
***BEAUTIFUL PLANTS*** You might be surprised to ***BEAUTIFUL PLANTS***

You might be surprised to learn that we stock a wide range of plants, not just varieties of Peperomia! Just take a look at this gorgeous Calathea 'Network' - the intricate pattern on the leaves are a wonder of the natural world.

I choose plants that I love and that I think you'll love too. They're not always rare or top of the latest trend lists, but they're always beautiful and if you open your hearts they can bring peace and joy.

You can check out our plant selection anytime at @ecovillageuk (well, during opening hours). If you want help to choose the right plant or pick up care tips you will often find me in the main room (I'm the one dancing to Erasure) or you can message me here.

It's a big weekend at eco-village with our Spring Fair on Saturday (16/04). Check out the @ecovillageuk posts to see all the lovely people joining us for the day but rest assured that you'll find all the village regulars too. I'll be there all day on Saturday for plant chat and dancing.
***HUSBAND BOSWORTH FAIR*** We're inside today at ***HUSBAND BOSWORTH FAIR***

We're inside today at Husbands Bosworth village hall for their Spring Fair. We've got so many beautiful plants from tiny tradescantia to massive monstera. There a lots of other fab traders to browse and I'll be personally checking the quality of the cakes and pizza through the day.

It's a lovely sunny day for a mooch, so pop over and say hi. Open 11am - 4pm.
***EVEN MORE PEPEROMIA*** It's hard to believe. Y ***EVEN MORE PEPEROMIA***

It's hard to believe. You might have seen this odd little fella on my stories last week and it's a regular on the shelves - Peperomia caperata 'Lilian'. Like all Peperomia it carries it's 'flowers' as these wierd antenna like inflorescence and the leaves are slightly flocked, slightly moulded. No-one will be surprised to learn how easy these plants are - the flower-spikes droop when the plant needs water.

We are closed now at the eco-village for Sunday and Monday and re-open there for a new week on Tuesday. If you're looking for a trip out tomorrow (Sunday 10/04) I'll be at the Husbands Bosworth Spring Fair from 11am-4pm with lots of beautiful plants to make you happy.
***MORE PEPEROMIA*** It's true; I had a check on ***MORE PEPEROMIA***

It's true; I had a check on the shelves at @ecovillageuk and we now have six varieties of Peperomia in stock. Each one is special in it's own little way (like my children) and each is easy to care for (um, yeah) and will grow beautifully to make you proud (❤️).

New in today is this very lovely Peperomia argyreia - you can see why it's common name is watermelon peperomia. It will sit happily in good, indirect light and will tolerate a range of conditions - you just need to adjust watering if it's somewhere cooler or shadier.

We are open as usual at the eco-village today and Saturday (9am - 4pm). I'm in the main room until 1pm today and again tomorrow 10.30am-2.30pm. Pop in to chat about my Peperomia obsession.

On Sunday we are having a day out at Husbands Bosworth Spring Fair at the village hall (I think it starts at 11am). Keeping my fingers crossed for cake.
***STRING OF HEARTS*** We've got some of these sw ***STRING OF HEARTS***

We've got some of these sweet strings of hearts (Ceropegia woodii) in hanging coco pots. These are perennial favourites, super easy to look after and they grow satisfyingly long.

We're open at @ecovillageuk all week - Tuesday to Saturday (9am-4pm) with late night on Thursday until 8pm. I'll be in the main room on Friday morning so that'll be a good time to pop in if you have any plant questions.

On Sunday we are popping up at Husbands Bosworth Spring Fair - more on this later
***BROMHAM MILL*** We are set up here at Bromham ***BROMHAM MILL***

We are set up here at Bromham Mill, near Bedford with lots of fab stalls. Come down and enjoy the hot drinks from the cafe!
***MORE PEPEROMIA*** We had a fresh delivery toda ***MORE PEPEROMIA***

We had a fresh delivery today which included no fewer than three varieties of Peperomia to add to the P. verticillata featured yesterday and our old favourite, P. Hope. Not pictured today is P. caperata 'Lilian', which deserves a post to herself, but for now enjoy the tiny delights of P. prostrata (String of Turtles) and P. pepperspot. True to type these gorgeous little plants (they are in 6cm diameter pots) are super easy to care for and fairly quick growing. Definitely a beautiful plant to make you happy.

You can find ALL the Peperomia varieties on the shelves at the eco-village - open Tuesday to Saturday (9am-4pm). I'll be in the main room on Saturday if you need any help choosing the perfect plant or advice on plant care or repotting.

On Sunday you'll find us at the first @bromhammill_artisanfair of the year bringing all the houseplant happiness to the people of Bedford & Northampton.
***PEPEROMIA*** There's a very good reason Pepero ***PEPEROMIA***

There's a very good reason Peperomia is Plant of the Year 2022. There is so much gorgeous variety of leaf shapes, colour and texture and they are such easy going plants - what's not to love?

Here's a close up of our beautiful little friend, Peperomia verticillata 'Red Log'; columns of soft leaves with a flash of deep red on the underside.

We are open as usual at @ecovillageuk Market Harborough, Tuesday to Saturday (9am - 4pm) with late night opening until 8pm in Thursday. I'll be there tomorrow (11ish to 2iah) with about fifty different Peperomia varieties for all the plant chat.
